Six Flags Read to Succeed

Reminder - if your child is participating in the Six Flags Read to Succeed Program, the forms are due next week Tuesday, February 20th. Please see the original post below from the PTO website if you have any questions regarding the program.

SIX FLAGS READ TO SUCCEED PROGRAM 2017-18
Your child should have received their reading log and instructions for the 2017-18 Six Flags Read to Succeed Program. Every student who completes six hours of recreational reading before Tuesday February 20, 2018 (day after President’s Day Holiday) is eligible for a free admission ticket valid at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee this season. Copies of the reading log (pages 1 and 2) along with the parent instructions are available on the PTO webpage and as attachments to the Carpenter Courier. Additional copies are available in the school office.
Children are required to read recreationally for 360 minutes (6 hours) prior to Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Parents must initial each reading entry and sign the final reading log to verify that the six hours of reading has been completed.
Your child can read books, magazines, newspapers, ebooks, or comic books. Reading for homework or a class assignment does NOT count. Students can read silently, aloud or with another person. Your child can read to you or you can read to your child. Please return the reading log to your homeroom teacher by February 20, 2018. Late entries cannot be accepted. The program is now completely submitted online and no late entries will be accepted.
Tickets will be distributed in May through your child’s homeroom teacher. Each ticket is valid for one free admission only. The students’ names are printed on the tickets. The ticket is valid for admission to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois during selected dates during the 2018 season (in past years tickets expire in early August). Tickets are not for resale and are nontransferable.
We want to develop a greater appreciation for books and reading. Your guidance shows that you think reading is important too. Please investigate the world of reading together. We hope that you and your child enjoy this free program and spend time reading together!
If you have any questions, please contact brendaeberline787@gmail.com or (847) 858-5350.
